Monolith awards by Studio AMT
We have designed and produced Anglo American's Applaud Awards to celebrate the work of their worldwide teams across a number of categories. Briefed to be 'statuesque', we designed The 'Monolith'.
The Monolith is a silicon bronze cast plinth designed with a concave core to represent mining in a literal form. Inspired and informed by the psychology of shape, indicative of a mindful approach to the workplace, it's monumental form visually communicates a powerhouse, with the core’s smooth elliptical shape signifying compassion, inclusion and unity.
Made in Britain, the awards are sand cast in South East London and hand worked by our expert bronze workers. Finished with a visually complex and beautifully durable deep charcoal patina, the core is mirror polished and the awards are diamond drag engraved with precision in London’s Hatton Garden.
