Statement Necklaces: The Alice Made This Edit

The final instalment in our collection of Women’s Edits comes from our founder Alice Walsh. With a clean and honest design aesthetic, a love of geometry and raw materials, and a dedication to British industrial processes, Alice is always moving our brand forward with her innovative thinking, her dedication and her warmth. Today, she rounds off our series of talks with inspirational women and speaks about curating The Alice Made This Edit, as well as her favourite pieces from our wider collection.

Before I started Alice Made This, I worked in furniture and product design. I spent my time designing anything from a light or a table to an aeroplane customer experience. I worked with manufacturers in Europe, Asia and America, which informed and generated my passion for working with factories and with industrial processes.

I always knew that I wanted to own my own business and, when Ed and I struggled to find cufflinks for our wedding, I saw the opportunity. I love the multidisciplinary nature of my role at AMT. As a small brand we have a tight team that can make decisions and action things quickly. I feel very fortunate to meet wonderful people in my day to day role at AMT. From the factories we work with, to clients in Japan or fellow entrepreneurs like the incredibly inspiring women we have interviewed for The Women’s Edits. We are constantly meeting experts and interesting characters.

I have loved developing our necklace collection this year. I wear them every day and I choose the necklaces based on my mood and plans for the day! The collection was designed with this in mind. The full array of pieces offers a  delicate, minimal, graphic or bold  choice - all with the refined industrial aesthetic that's at the heart of Alice Made This. Having spent the last few years building Alice Made This into a British made, men’s accessories proposition, I am really excited to be applying our design ethos and our values to a collection for Women.

Having had the collection in the studio for the last few months, I have been mixing various pieces and materials. My go to statement, and my choice for The Alice Made This Edit, is the 5 x Hope in steel - a clean statement to go well with anything. It works as well paired with a white tee in the day as it does with a little black dress by night. With the five pendants, I get to wear all five or reduce to three and one if I wish too.

My favourite pieces in our collection change daily, but The Alice Made This Edit is my staple at the moment. I also love the M8 cuff bracelet, the Bancroft accessories or Oliver rose gold cufflinks. The Thomas Rhodium cuff and stud set is great in the run up to New Year’s Eve and, for the ladies who want a single pendant, the Quinn Silver necklace and the Eden silver necklace are lovely choices. And, of course, all the pieces from The Women’s Edit! We hope you’ve enjoyed them.
