Studio Projects. Anglo American Centenary gifts
This week we’d like to introduce you to Studio AMT and the wider projects that the team here at Alice Made This gets stuck into alongside creating our simple and engineered collections of men’s accessories and women’s jewellery.
Studio AMT is the arm of our business that works on bespoke client projects. With close relationships with our British factories, and a pioneering in-house creative studio that takes ideas from initial inspirations through to design and final production, we’re always excited to get new briefs from clients and approach each one in its own unique way.
Our most recent project is for Anglo American, one of the world’s largest mining companies. We were tasked to offer a gift to their employees to celebrate 100 years of Anglo American being in business and making a real difference.
With four copper operations amongst the Anglo American products, Alice Made This was excited to use this as story-telling material to highlight industrial innovation and the refinery process from mine to market. We were keen to design and develop a product that each employee could use in a way that was suited to them and their lifestyle.
The Copper Pot.
Using a similar process to our copper bracelets and copper cufflinks, The Copper Pot is turned from solid copper and is machined with high precision. Each piece is individually coarse wet blasted before being carefully polished by hand and machined engraved with the centenary, celebratory logo. This results in every Copper Pot being unique, mirroring the importance of every single employee at Anglo American.
This project not only offers an elegant gift for Anglo American employees, but it was rewarding for the Studio AMT team, allowing us to experiment further with our processes, the material properties of copper and geometric forms. The Copper Pot encapsulates our ethos of engineered simplicity through its minimalist design.
